RubyNess 2020 will be hosted in Inverness, in the Eden Court, one of the most iconic venues in the Highlands, with three centuries of history.
Inverness is located in the banks of the River Ness, and just about 15-min drive from the Loch Ness. It's the capital of the Highlands, northernmost city in the UK, and it's described by the Lonely Planet as "one of the wildest and most scenic parts of Europe".
Being one of the happiest city in the UK — Inverness is nice — you'll feel the indescribable warmth of the Scottish people welcoming you. It is very well connected too, both via plane and train.
Inverness is so far north that you'll experience more than 17h of daylight. If you happen to be awake at 1am, you'll still notice a slight clarity, given the sun is just 11o below the horizon.
Inverness comes from the Scottish Gaelic words Inbhir Nis, meaning: mouth of the River Ness. Gaelic can be seen written everywhere, it's a preserved gem.
The Highlands are full of whisky distilleries. About ~1h drive away from Inverness you'll find the River Spey, one of the most famous concentrations of distilleries.
